Reading Transforms

The project Reading Transforms (Leitura Transforma) aims to make education possible for kids in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Contact with books is the first step to education, even simply looking through illustrations can be extremely helpful. Our project builds libraries in schools and nurseries in Rio while also planning activities to help children engage and create a relationship with books. By drawing, reading interactive books, planning reading logs to read at home, children who attend schools and nurseries with no libraries, in the past, now have created the beautiful habit of reading!
